LOVE // Harriet & James
TELL US YOUR LOVE STORY
How did you meet?
It was the night of the Royal Wedding 2011, I had just come from a girls night dressed as Kate Middleton in a black knit jumper and tartan skirt, and had decided to take our Royal celebration to South Yarra! We knew of each other through mutual friends and bumped into each other on the street and instantly hit it off and started seeing each other straight away.
How did he put a ring on it?
James and I often picnic at local parks and gardens. James had been on a business trip for 3 weeks in the US, so upon his arrival back home we decided a picnic would be a nice way to spend time together. It was a Friday night and we walked to the Botanical gardens and found a quiet spot. After we had devoured the delicious spread James said he had brought a gift back for me and brought out a box. As he handed me the box, I thought in my head ‘I hope he remembers I don’t have my ears pierced!’. As I opened the box, there sat a diamond ring he had picked out in NYC and a giant smile filled my face and his. He paused for a moment and asked “Will you marry me?”. Of course, I said yes! We spent the next hour in the gardens as the sun went down making the most of the special moment.
