TELL US YOUR LOVE STORY
HOW DID YOU MEET?
We met through his brother! I had a brief encounter with his brother in the food court underneath my office. I believe he had msged MJ and he tracked me down and a month later. I received a msg via Facebook from MJ, after which we met for a drink a couple of weeks later.
HOW DID HE PUT A RING ON IT?
We had planned to meet friends to go skiing in Thredbo, though instead he drove us into the international airport. He managed to keep the destination a secret until we got onto the plane, where I then heard Japanese being called out over the intercom. The next morning we arrived in Tokyo, and a couple of days later, he took me to dinner at a restaurant where (real) monkeys are the waiters. After dinner the monkey proceeded to pass me a ring box shaped as an apple. After throwing it back to the monkey a few times, thinking I was in a show, MJ finally called out to me to open it.
WHERE DID YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FROM?
I was inspired by classic the location I chose for the wedding.
WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING THEME & STYLE?
Classic New York Sky Line
WHAT MADE THE WEDDING PERSONAL TO YOU?
Having 95 of my closest friends together, all the way from Australia, on a rooftop overlooking the view New York Sky Line. What a rush. Makes by heart flutter, the thought of it.
WHAT WERE YOU MOST NERVOUS OR EXCITED ABOUT?
That 10 minutes I was standing by myself waiting to be told to walk out, what a rush.
DID YOU DIY ANY ELEMENTS?
I had a neon sign made (made in my handwriting) saying Chloe and MJ, and florals projected over white walls – all with the help of Love Find Co.
Now, the most important part - the Dress!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR WEDDING DRESS
Inspired by a look I saw on Steven Khalil’s runway, the moment I saw it, the instant I fell in love with it. I assumed I would wear a fitted one, but after every dress I tried, I kept coming back to that one.
I think its verryyyyyy well suited to the New York theme too. Simple lines, Elegant, Classic…. A small amount of detail to break up the white, and just a touch of sparkle if the sun hit it.
WHERE WERE YOUR BRIDESMAID DRESSES FROM?
With the idea of a simple elegant, Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany’s style silhouette in mind, I had them custom made by a dress maker in Sydney.
WHERE WERE THE GROOM & GROOMSMEN SUITS FROM?
WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT FROM YOUR DAY?
When the sun went down and all the guests were sitting for dinner, under the fairy lights, with Saint Patricks Cathedral lit up in the back ground… but then want made it so memorable for me, was the speeches my brother-in-law and oldest friend Michelle gave, and of course MJ’s best friend, truly something I could never forget.
WHAT DOES MARRIAGE MEAN TO YOU?
An adventure, a person who you can evolve with
Stunning pearl Tiffany & Co. earrings that my ‘hubby to be’ gave me for my wedding gift.
My Cartier Love bracelet (besides the fact that it is screwed to my wrist and I cant remove it).
I asked a dear friend of mine, who wasn’t going to be able top make it to New York due to visa issues, if I could borrow something off her, so she would be there in spirit. She has a set of two beautiful delicate diamond bands. She lent me one. Last minute, her visa came through and she surprised me telling me she would be there. I don’t think I slept a full night, out of excitement, after she told me that. She wore the matching ring to the ceremony & later gave it to me.
I looked all over New York on the hunt for blue stilettos. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any. Though, my sister bought me a very fine/ delicate little blue bracelet
ANY WORDS OF WISDOM YOU CAN PASS ONTO FUTURE BRIDES & GROOMS?
Brides to be's - throw out all your flesh coloured underwear.. ain’t nothin’ flattering about that. Grooms – You’re welcome, thank me later.
