LOVE // Ally & Mikey
Tell Us Your Love Story
How did you meet?
We met when we were just 16 years old and have been inseparable ever since
How did he put a ring on it?
Mikey took me to the same place where he asked me to be his girlfriend when we were 16. He had a picnic prepared for me and hidden in the boot of his car. During our picnic he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
Where did you draw inspiration from?
Villa Cimbrone really took our breath away! The venue was like an enchanted garden. The venue spoke for itself so we wanted to keep the decorations to a minimum.
What was your wedding theme & style?
Classic and timeless!
What made the wedding personal to you?
Our wedding was intimate. What made it so special was having our closest friends and family travel half way across the world to be with us on our special day.
What were you most nervous or excited about?
I would have to say I was most nervous about fitting into my wedding dress! We had spent two weeks before the wedding partying in Mykonos and eating pasta and gelato Italy.
We were most excited about seeing each other for the first time at the alter and becoming husband and wife ❤️
Did you DIY any elements?
My mum put together our bonboniere. We ordered little Nutella jars and attached a sticker which said “primo amore” which in Italian translates to, “my first love”.
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
Seeing Mikey with tears in his eyes as I walked down the aisle.
What does marriage mean to you?
It means getting to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. No matter where life leads us, I know that as long as we are together, then we are exactly where we are meant to be.
Something New? My dress 😊
Something Old? My shoes - I wore the same shoes I wore to my engagement party. They were super comfy!
Something Borrowed? I borrowed on of my mum’s rings. I have always loved this ring.
Something Blue? I wore an anklet with a blue “evil eye” pendant. In Greek it is referred to as the “Mati”, which is a symbol of protection.
Anything words of wisdom you can pass onto future brides & grooms?
Enjoy every moment as the day flies by so quickly!
Pack a little bag with your essentials for the day. Don’t forget to include include eye drops to clear your red eyes from happy tears!
