TELL US YOU LOVE STORY

How Did You Meet?
We met at work more than 8 years ago through a mutual work colleague. We got along really well and after several post-work outings with our work friends we decided it was about time we had a proper date - and the rest is history! :) The proposal took place while we were on holidays in Exmouth, WA. Michael and I had spent the day out on the beautiful Ningaloo Reef swimming with whale sharks and dolphins. Afterwards, we drove to a deserted beach where he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife with a beautiful Colombian emerald ring.

Tell us about your wedding day! What made your wedding special?
It was a truly amazing day! We had so much fun! It had been raining quite heavily all day and a couple of hours before the ceremony, the sun finally came out. I was initially very nervous but as soon as I was looking down the aisle at Michael, the nerves completely disappeared. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face! We were very lucky to have a number of friends involved in the running of our day - a family friend married us, another was our MC and my friend created our beautiful bouquets and floral arrangements for us. These personal touches really made our day.

What was your wedding theme & style?
Summery... We had ivory and watercolour pinks and blues which was taken from our stationery suite by The Distillery. My girlfriends helped me dip-dye 120-something cotton napkins to tie in with the watercolour style and colours! We also made our own table number and menu holders from lengths of white-wash coated pine.

What song did you choose for your first dance, and why?
It took us a really long time to choose our first dance song as we wanted it to be something that reflected both our taste in music and that was special - first dance-worthy! We chose You're the One by The Black Keys.

Now, the most important part - the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?
It might sound a bit cliche but I knew as soon as I tried on the Hayworth dress that it was THE dress! I'd tried on quite a few different gowns before visiting the Suzanne Harward trunk show and this was the first one that just felt like 'me'. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face while my mum and sisters shed a happy tear or two!

Any advice for future couples?
There may be hiccups - don't worry :) and the day really does go just as quickly as everyone tells you it does (if not faster!) - enjoy every minute!
